Vendemmia conclusa: avanti tutta!

The harvest ended: ahead full!

Now it’s the turn for the wine!
In the beginning of October we finished the harvest of 2018, just in time! The inclement rain showers on Montalcino have started from Monday; this is why we decided to harvest the grapes throughout the weekend. The result of our work, will now rest in the vats and, waiting to be able to taste it, we are enjoying this moment.

However, we can already anticipate with satisfaction that it was a good year. The climate has certainly played an important role. The high temperatures of the summer months before and the transition from the heat to the night cold of the last days have made possible an optimal maturation. In the area of Castelnuovo dell’Abate, the harvest was abundant thanks to the many precautions we had throughout the summer for the vineyards. On all, even on the vineyards closer to home, a constant and regular pruning work. The bunches were in good condition, with perfect colors, structure and gradations.

By our favor also the long experience of Maurizio, the cellar boss, who has “watched” day and night on the vineyards! Years like these put us to the test and our previous experience is essential for a successful harvest and wine. Enyhow,.

We still cross our fingers and … we’ll let you know shortly!
