Con te se ne va un pezzo importante della storia della Cantina Tornesi

Oggi un sole timido si affaccia sui vigneti dell’azienda Tornesi. Sembra anche lui voler salutare una delle colonne portanti della famiglia che qualche giorno fa ci ha salutati, l’instancabile nonna Renata, che ha dedicato con fervente passione e costanza gran parte della sua vita, stagione dopo stagione, all’attività della famiglia Tornesi.

Presente in tutti i momenti importanti della cantina, con l’allegria e con la forza d’animo che da sempre, in ben 93 anni, l’aveva contraddistinta. Fino all’ultima grande vendemmia, anche lì con il ruolo di capitano, a dirigere la grande squadra della famiglia Tornesi, insegnando a Maurizio prima e alla nipote Elisa dopo, tutti i segreti della tradizione enoica di un territorio votato naturalmente alla produzione del vino, quello di Montalcino.

Nonna Renata, mancherà a tutti! Non solo alla sua famiglia, ma ad ogni pianta dei vigneti, alle sue adorate galline e a tutte le persone che nel loro cammino hanno avuto la fortuna di conoscerla. Rimarrà nei loro cuori, come dimostrano tutti i messaggi d’affetto nei suoi confronti, manifestati anche dopo una semplice visita in cantina. Era lei che con il suo modo da tuttofare si rimboccava le maniche per cucinare i piatti della tradizione toscana da accompagnare durante le degustazioni e gli eventi organizzati dalla famiglia Tornesi.

Una grande roccia che porterà con se un pezzo importante della storia della famiglia e di Montalcino.

Farewell Nana Renata!

An important piece of the Tornesi Winery’s story goes away with you

Today a shy sunshine is watching over the vineyards of the winery Tornesi. It almost seems like he wants to say goodbye to one of the backbones of our family, the tireless nana Renata. She dedicated to the family business the majority of her life. With a fervent passion and constance, season after season, she was there.

And she was present in all of the important moments for the winery Tornesi, with her joy and her strength of soul that has always characterised her 93 years of life. She was there up until the last harvest, leading the big team of the Tornesi family, sharing all of the secrets of the wine tradition in Montalcino, a territory which is naturally devoted to the wine. She first taught Maurizio and then her granddaughter Elisa about this amazing world.

Nana Renata will be missed! Not only by the family, but also by each and every vine, and by her beloved chickens and by all of the people who were lucky enough to know her.

She will stay in their heart, as all of the loving messages for her are showing, they were left even after a simple tour of the winery.

Nana Renata was a real all-rounder! As a matter of fact, she was the one who rolled-up her sleeves to cook the traditional Tuscan dishes during the tasting events organised by the Tornesi family.

She was a great rock which will carry with her an important piece of the family’s story as well as of the Montalcino’s one.
